Canada in the Contemporary World offers a modern explanation of what it means to be Canadian, and more specifically a Manitoban, in a rapidly changing world. The text uses examples that relate to students’ everyday life to explain complex topics such as rights and responsibilities, immigration, government policies, democracy, elections, and Canada and the global economy. Students are encouraged to think critically about today’s issues and consider how they can make a difference in their community and beyond.
