Book Catalogue: Advanced Book Catalogue Search
Search Tips Searches are not case-sensitive. Search phrases are assumed to be exact; Boolean searching is not supported.
When searching by Title, use the full title whenever possible (omitting the leading article, if any). If you do not know the full title, it is better to use more words than too few words. Avoid searching for common terms such as "and" or "law."
When searching by Author, do not use first names. It is better to search for one author of a publication than for multiple authors. If you search for multiple authors, separate author names with commas.
When searching by ISBN/ISSN, include hyphens. Because ISBNs/ISSNs often begin with a non-unique string of digits, it is better to use the last three or four digits of an ISBN/ISSN than the first five or six digits.
When searching by Subject, it is better to search for single terms than for phrases. Avoid searching for "law," which will return a list of almost all publications.
