Overview
The second edition of Provincial Offences: Essential Tools for Law Enforcement continues to guide students in studying provincial laws commonly enforced in Ontario. Starting with the Provincial Offences Act, which governs the prosecution and execution of enforcement action for all pieces of legislation passed by the Ontario government, each chapter covers a specific Act routinely encountered by police officers, security officers, and other public security officials.
Dan Gilbert and Peter Maher, through their experience as both police officers and teachers, provide the kind of practical commentary and student-centred activities that continue to make Provincial Offences a valuable teaching and learning tool. The text stresses a working knowledge of the law based on the kinds of real-life situations and everyday calls for service that future officers will encounter in the field.
