Emond Montgomery Publications takes pride in being a low-cost provider of learning materials for college and university programs of study. We recognize that students have limited resources to pay for required and recommended textbooks and workbooks. We also recognize that instructors need to review a learning resource before they can determine whether it matches up with their curriculum and classroom needs. That is why we make complimentary review copies readily available to prospective adopters and provide desk copies to those who adopt one of our texts. Because the cost of complimentary instructor copies impinges directly on the cost of student texts and the price students are asked to pay, we are becoming increasingly sensitive to the need to balance these two defining considerations.
Accordingly, effective May 1, 2008, we will provide complimentary review and desk copies for instructors teaching college or university classes in which twenty (20) or more copies of the text are ordered for a course. This policy will have no effect on the flow of review and desk materials for the bulk of our schools and customers. At the schools where a higher ratio of complimentary copies is being requested, we will reserve the right to ask them to pay the posted net (discounted) price of any review and desk copies that exceed the posted threshold.
Our commitment is to produce quality learning materials at a fair and reasonable cost to students. In line with that commitment, we pledge to maintain a level of support to booksellers, instructors, and students that is unmatched in Canadian educational publishing.
